The new SSTSA campus is underway! Our new school is comprised of two separate buildings: Academic and Activity Center.
Along with administrative and district office sites, the Academic building will include three high tech computer labs, four advanced science labs (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, PLTW Biomedical), over 30 large classrooms, a Research Library, Fine Arts Room, College & Career Center, several conference rooms and resource offices such as Counseling, ESL, Sped, and GT. And we cannot forget about other essential areas, such as spacious Teachers’ Lounge, Workroom areas, etc.
The Activity Center will include: Multipurpose Cafeteria, UIL standard Gymnasium, Theater Arts & Music hall with stage, an Extended Innovative Makerspace with Solar Car Body Shop and five mini Engineering Labs: (Audio & Video Studio, Laser Cutting & Wood Shop, 3D Printing Shop, Robotics Lab, Graphic Design Lab)
Aside from academics and activities, the new campus will take SST sports to the next level. The new school has several outdoor courts for different sports and a spectacular mini-stadium with all the features necessary for sport and education: a soccer field, a running track and field, two tennis courts, and two basketball courts.
Lastly, students will enjoy outdoor activities and lounging in the brand-new courtyard! The central courtyard will include two amphitheaters and plenty of relaxing outdoor spaces for collaboration and studies. All of which will reside in a safely fenced environment atop a hill.
Anticipated substantial completion of the project is end of this month and we cannot wait to welcome you all very soon!
